Who Owns the Photos?

Under U.S. copyright law, the person who takes the photograph is the copyright owner of that image. That’s ibi designs inc. What you’re purchasing is a license to use the photos for the specific purpose of marketing a home, usually during the term of your listing agreement.

Unless we’ve signed a written agreement transferring ownership, the copyright stays with us. That means:

• You cannot sell or give the images to another agent or third party (sub contractors etc.) who takes over the listing
• If someone else wants to use our work, kindly point them our way. We’re happy to:
  • Re-shoot the property
  • Or license existing images again

We all want the home buying and selling process to go smoothly, including the photos that help make it happen. If we ever need to use a stock image or two due to bad weather, privacy concerns, or community rules, we’ll always aim to make each listing feel fresh and unique.
